Oftentimes, we want to receive but are unwilling to give up ourselves, our possessions or people. This unwillingness stands in the way for us to receive the fullness of God’s blessings.

What is mine is yours. What is yours is mine.

When I received this sculpture, I realized my folly –for what little I have to offer, God gives so much more in return.

6. Obey God even if we don’t want to

We want God to change us. We want God to change our lives. He’s willing to do this but we tend to be obstinate not because we disagree with God but because we don’t want to put in any extra effort or go out of our comfort zone.

Question: What does it mean to obey God even when we don’t want to? Please grant me this grace.

God’s answer:

Eager beaver
You aim to please Me. You want to make Me happy.

Meaning of eager beaver: "a keen and enthusiastic person who works very hard"⁴.
